RENTAL CONDITIONS SCOOTERS from SCOOTERS EXPRESS

• The scooter 50cc (hereinafter referred to as “vehicle”) may only be driven by the renter on the contract. If the renter allows another person to drive the vehicle who is not mentioned on the rental contract, the renter is fully liable for damage to the vehicle and accidents to third parties. Regardless of the culprit, all costs such as damage claims and administration costs will be recovered from the lessee of the contract.

• The renter is at all times obliged to lock the vehicle correctly with the chain and padlock through the rear wheel.

• We take a security deposit of $300/€300 for each vehicle. This security deposit can be given in cash or by credit card. If the credit card company charges costs or exchange rates for the use thereof, these costs are for the renter.

• Scooters Express is at all times authorized to collect the deposit for unpaid costs or damage incurred during the rental period. Scooters Express is also entitled to compensation.

• A rental day is 24 hours. An extra day will be charged if the vehicle is not returned on time. The rent must be paid at the start. If you want to keep the vehicle longer, you must inform the rental company Scooters Express in time on telephone number (00599) 7004123 or 7003885. In case of extension, a signature must be made, via whatsapp / social media messages, the extension is also binding. This means that the entire contract term must be completed in full. Cancellation of the extension is only possible within 24 hours after reservation. The vehicle must be returned to our location. If you leave the vehicle elsewhere, additional costs will be charged. If the rental shop is closed, a location can be indicated in consultation with Scooters Express where the scooter can be left.

• The rent must be paid at the start. No refund will be given if the vehicle is returned early for any reason. In the event of early termination of the contract, the tenant is obliged to pay the remaining rental period in full.

• Renter receives 1 helmet with each scooter and it must be returned in the same condition. There are also costs associated with damage. We have favorable rates for an extra helmet.

• All accidents and damage (minor or major) that have occurred must be reported immediately to Scooters Express on telephone number (00599) 7004123 or 7003885.

• Renting an extra scooter in the event of damage must be paid for by the renter.

• A flat tire is not included in the rental of the vehicle. These are costs for the tenant. The amount may vary according to the nature of the 'damage'.

NB! If the belt is completely broken, a new belt must be fitted. An X amount will be charged for collecting the scooter (depending on the collector's costs), separate from the costs of labor and materials.

• It is forbidden to drive on unpaved 'knoek' (distant) roads. In the event that the vehicle gets a flat tire or breaks down on an unpaved 'knoek' road, additional charges will apply.

USD 120.00 will be charged for vehicle pick-up.

• If damage is caused when the renter has consumed alcohol or drugs, the insurance taken out automatically expires, and the renter is fully liable for all costs.

• The renter will be charged for the collection of the scooter by Scooters Express, if this proves necessary for a reason other than mechanical failure.

• During the rental period, the lessee is liable for all traffic violations and fines. The renter is obliged to immediately report all violations to Scooters Express and to pay the costs and does not hold Scooters Express liable for any unforeseen costs during or after the rental period.

• It is forbidden to participate in competitions or races with the rented vehicle. In the event of damage during participation in such competitions, the insurance will expire and the renter will be fully liable for all costs.

• It is prohibited to maintain or repair the vehicle yourself without permission from Scooters Express. Without the permission of Scooters Express, the renter is liable for all costs incurred if this is done.

• Changes in the rental contract are only legally valid if signed by both the tenant and the landlord. The word vehicle also includes tires, tools, accessories, documents and locks.

• Scooters Express can unilaterally terminate the contract in the event of non-compliance with the rental conditions and recover any damage/costs incurred from the renter.

• Scooters Express has the right to determine the damage amount. Invoices are non-negotiable. If the parts are not available on the island,

• The minimum age to rent/drive a scooter is 16 years old. The renter / driver must be in possession of a valid car driver's license.

• Certain vehicles are 1 or 2 person. No more than 2 persons may ride on a vehicle intended for 2 persons (renter plus 1 person). And on a 2-person scooter, a maximum of 2 people are allowed.

• Gasoline is not included in the rent, unless agreed otherwise. You will receive the vehicle with a full tank and must also return the vehicle with a full tank of petrol. If the tank is not returned full, the double liter price will be charged 1/2 hour labor by Scooters Express. If you come to a standstill during the rental of the vehicle due to not refueling on time and need the pick-up service of Scooters Express, an additional USD 50 will be charged. For longer distances it costs $70. Costs resulting from not refueling / not refueling on time where the scooter gets a mechanical problem are for the costs of the renter.

• Scooters Express is not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings of the renter or additional driver

• The rented scooter has a liability insurance with maximum damage coverage to third parties

USD 83,800.00. All costs above this amount are for the costs of the tenant. Theft cover is not covered by the WA insurance. The renter is at all times fully responsible for all damage caused to the vehicle. The renter of the vehicle is also fully responsible if the vehicle is stolen and no additional theft insurance has been taken out as stated below. For each vehicle hit, the renter must pay an excess of $300 per vehicle.

The renter is fully liable for theft of the scooter. This can be bought off with an additional theft premium of USD 10 per day. The deposit of USD 1000.00 is also the deductible. Without the theft premium, the renter is fully liable for the value of the scooter between $1750 and $3500.

Cost for a stolen chain plus padlock is $150.

Cost for a stolen helmet is $110.

• The tenant always remains responsible for any damage to the rented property, even if damage has been caused by third parties.

• Deposit is returned to renter when the scooter is returned in the same condition as received.

*IMPORTANT NOTE

The tenant will in any case pay all costs arising in the event of damage or non-compliance with payment before the tenant leaves Bonaire. Every day that the scooter cannot be rented due to fault/repair of the customer, 1 day's rent is added. For every day that the tenant does not pay, we charge 20% per day on top of the outstanding amount, excluding judicial or bailiff costs.

* For longer term (Long term = minimum 21 days) rental, the scooter must be kept clean at all times.
